Menominee County warned of severe storms, hail and possible tornadoes
Tribal emergency managers set a 5 to 9 p.m. Friday storm window and warned Menominee County to brace for hail, then a more dangerous round Sunday into Monday.

Menominee County residents got a narrow Friday evening window to prepare after the Menominee Tribal Emergency Management Office warned that severe thunderstorms could move through between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., with large hail the main threat. The briefing said the first round was the most concerning immediate hazard, giving households, drivers and weekend organizers only a short stretch to secure plans before conditions changed.
A second round was flagged from Sunday afternoon into Monday evening, and that round carried the heavier risk. The tribal message said damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes and heavy rainfall were all possible later in the weekend, while the National Weather Service Green Bay outlook for northeast Wisconsin pointed to thunderstorms and heavy rain increasing late this weekend through Monday night. The weather service said severe thunderstorms were possible at times from Sunday night through Monday evening, but the timing and coverage of that system remained uncertain.

For Menominee County, that forecast raises the chance of the kinds of disruptions that can quickly turn a routine weekend into a safety problem. Large hail can damage vehicles and roofs, strong winds can bring down branches and power lines, and heavy rain can create ponding on roads and flooding in low-lying spots. With the worst weather threats lined up around Friday evening and again into the start of the workweek, outdoor events, travel and after-hours gatherings face the highest risk of interruption.
The tribal office told residents to keep checking the latest Hazardous Weather Outlook and other National Weather Service statements, noting that email updates may not always be possible. The warning came through an established emergency channel: the Menominee Tribal Emergency Management Department lists Benjamin Warrington as emergency management coordinator, and Menominee County Emergency Management says it is responsible for planning, coordinating, training, public awareness and response for disasters and emergencies. The Green Bay forecast area includes Menominee County, putting the reservation and surrounding communities squarely in the path of the regionwide storm watch.
