Jacksonville Memorial Hosts Two January Blood Drives, Partners With ImpactLife
Jacksonville Memorial Hospital announced two community blood drives scheduled for January 5 and January 12, 2026, in partnership with ImpactLife. The drives matter for Morgan County because donated blood supports local hospitals and emergency services across the region, and organizers are urging eligible residents to schedule appointments and review donation requirements.

Jacksonville Memorial Hospital announced on December 24, 2025 that it will host two community blood drives in early January, partnering with regional blood supplier ImpactLife. Collections will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on January 5 and January 12 in Meeting Rooms 2 and 3 at 1600 W. Walnut St. The hospital said appointments are available through ImpactLife and donors should use sponsor code 60058 when scheduling.
The announcement listed donor eligibility criteria to help residents determine if they can participate. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh 110 pounds or more, and not have donated blood since November 10, 2025. The hospital also provided practical details about the time required for donation and advised potential donors to confirm eligibility before scheduling a slot.
ImpactLife serves more than 100 hospitals and emergency services across the region, a capacity that links community collections directly to hospital needs during surgeries, chronic care and emergency events. For Morgan County residents, these drives offer a local opportunity to support those services without traveling to larger centers, while also strengthening the resilience of the regional blood supply that hospitals rely on.

Beyond the immediate need for units of blood, the drives highlight broader public health and equity concerns. Availability of donation events in a central location can reduce transportation barriers for people who lack mobility or time off work. At the same time, eligibility rules and appointment requirements may unintentionally exclude some willing donors, including younger residents and those who face scheduling obstacles. Community based outreach and flexible hours can help make donation more accessible to a wider cross section of the county.
Jacksonville Memorial and ImpactLife are positioning the January drives as a chance for residents to contribute to local healthcare capacity. Appointments are encouraged to ensure efficient collection. Residents seeking to give blood should contact ImpactLife to schedule and to confirm the eligibility details listed by the hospital.
