Former Law Enforcement Officer Jeff Snow Enters Nye County Commission Race
Jeff Snow, a 21-year Nevada State Police veteran who responded to Hurricane Katrina, filed for Nye County Commission District 5 ahead of the June 2026 primary.

Jeff Snow, a former Nevada State Police officer with 21 years in law enforcement, filed for the Nye County Commission District 5 seat, pitching public safety and community service as the pillars of his campaign ahead of the June 2026 primary and November general election.
"I've been in public service my entire life … it's a civic duty that's instilled in me from the time I was 17 years old," Snow told the Pahrump Valley Times.
That commitment began literally at 17, when Snow enlisted in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he was hired by the Nevada State Police, where he spent the next 21 years working across a range of assignments: hazmat operations, commercial enforcement, and sergeant of a traffic squad. He also served with FEMA's Urban Search and Rescue program and was deployed to Hurricane Katrina as part of a response team.

Snow has begun publicly outlining his platform as the race for the District 5 seat takes shape. His campaign framing centers on restoring public safety standards and strengthening local services, though detailed policy proposals have not yet been released.
The District 5 race will first be decided in the June 2026 primary, with the general election to follow in November 2026.
