Nye County Republican Club Formed, Launches Countywide Effort with Rally Saturday
A newly formed Nye County Republican Club held a countywide rally Saturday in Pahrump to back President Trump and local law enforcement and to kick off plans for voter engagement.

The Nye County Republican Club, formed in early December 2025, held a rally Saturday in Pahrump to show support for President Donald Trump and local law enforcement as part of a broader effort to strengthen Republican engagement across the county.
Joe Burdzinski, president of the nonprofit club, said the organization was created to bolster elected Republicans’ engagement and to educate residents on the actions of those officials. “I would like to see more people register as Republican,” Burdzinski said. He described the group’s goal as building a stronger Republican vote within Nye County.
Saturday’s rally took place at the corner of Highway 160 and Highway 372 and ran from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Nye County District Attorney Brian Kunzi and Nye County Commissioner Bruce Jabbour were among the scheduled speakers. Attendees were encouraged to bring flags and signs; Trump hats were sold for $10 and Trump MAGA T-shirts were sold for $5, with proceeds designated for the Nye County Republican Club.
“We want to say, ‘We’re a group here, we’re supporting President Trump. Make America great again,’” Burdzinski said, explaining the rally’s messaging. He also framed the public show of support for law enforcement as a reaction to recent criticism: “We also wanted to show support for law enforcement, because law enforcement over the recent months have been under attack by different groups and people,” Burdzinski elaborated. “We appreciate what the Nye County sheriff’s department, the state police and so on are doing. One of President Trump’s things was, let’s make America safe again, so that fits in very much with his vision.”
The club intends to operate countywide rather than focus solely on Pahrump. “We’re not just concentrating on Pahrump. We already have people doing some things for us in Beatty, Tonopah and Round Mountain. So it’s really going to be a club for the whole county, not just Pahrump,” Burdzinski said, adding that the group aims to include northern Nye residents who have sometimes felt left out. “I think that’s an important distinction. People in the northern part of Nye, in the past, have felt kind of left out. This way, we’re going to bring us all together.”
The Nye County Republican Club plans monthly luncheons featuring prominent Republican speakers. The first luncheon will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Bob Ruud Community Center from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., with Nevada Assemblyman and Minority Floor Leader Gregory Hafen II as the guest speaker. Tickets are $25 and include barbecued chicken, baked beans, a roll, chips and a soft drink.
For Nye County residents, the new club introduces another organized vehicle for candidate visibility and voter mobilization ahead of future local and state contests. Expect more public events and speaker forums in Pahrump, Beatty, Tonopah and Round Mountain as the group pursues higher registration and turnout among Republican voters; the Jan. 28 luncheon is the next scheduled opportunity for officials and voters to meet face to face.
