Nye County will put tax-defaulted properties on Bid4Assets in an online-only sale that runs May 1 through May 4, ending the familiar live-auction format for 2026. The county says the auction will open at 9 a.m. Friday, May 1, and close Monday, May 4, with no in-person bidding session this year.

Anyone hoping to participate had to move fast. Bid4Assets required a $500 certified deposit plus a $35 non-refundable processing fee, bringing the total participation cost to $535. The deposit deadline was Monday, April 27, at 1 p.m. PT, and the county said bidders also had to complete vesting information before they could even reach the deposit instructions.

The sale is being handled as a no-reserve auction, with bids starting as low as $900. That makes the event a low-entry, high-stakes path to acquiring delinquent properties, but Nye County is warning bidders not to treat it like a bargain bin. The county says every parcel is sold AS IS, all sales are final, and buyers are responsible for doing their own due diligence before placing a bid.

Property lists will be posted online and published in the Pahrump Valley Times and Tonopah Times-Bonanza, giving buyers in Pahrump, Tonopah and across Nye County a chance to review what is on the block before the auction opens. The county has urged bidders to check the listings closely and research each property before participating, since the sale can move quickly once bidding begins.

Winning bidders face another hard deadline after the auction closes. Full payment must be received by Bid4Assets no later than 1 p.m. PT Wednesday, May 6. If a buyer misses that settlement deadline, Bid4Assets says the winning bidder can forfeit the $500 deposit and may be banned from future sales. Nevada real property transfer tax will also be added to the purchase price.

Nye County also retains broad control over the sale. The county can reject any and all bids, withdraw properties during the auction, and cancel a sale before a deed is issued. For delinquent owners, that means the online process can still end in a loss of property. For buyers, it means the platform, the deadlines and the fine print now matter as much as the bid itself.
