Syracuse police seek registered sex offender wanted on active warrant

Syracuse police asked residents to help locate Jeffrey Bradley, a 65-year-old registered sex offender who is wanted on an active warrant after failing to complete a required annual address verification form. Bradley no longer lives at the last known address on file, 405 Cherry Street in Syracuse, and the missed paperwork left a gap in the tracking system meant to keep tabs on registered offenders living in the community.

Bradley has been a level 2 registered sex offender since April 5, 2011, and has 25 prior local arrests. The state requires registered offenders to return a signed address verification form within 10 days of receiving it each year. When that does not happen, the offender’s location cannot be confirmed.

The registry Bradley remains on was created under the Sex Offender Registration Act. New York’s Division of Criminal Justice Services gives the public information on the status and location of sex offenders living in the state, and includes photos, aliases, home and work addresses, and convictions that required registration. Risk levels are assigned by a judge after a court hearing.

Residents can search the registry by offender name, county or ZIP code, and people can sign up for sex-offender alerts that send an email when someone moves in or out of a neighborhood. In Onondaga County, that public safety network sits alongside the sheriff’s office active-warrants page and OffenderWatch.

Bradley is 5 feet 7 inches tall, 130 pounds, Black, with black hair and brown eyes. A public offender profile lists his date of birth as June 25, 1961. Syracuse police want anyone who sees him or knows where he is to contact investigators immediately.
