DeLagoon Park reopens in Fergus Falls after major campground rebuild
DeLagoon’s rebuilt campground now has 42 RV sites, a modern bathhouse and a live reservation system. Fergus Falls says the upgrade turns a basic park into a regional draw.

DeLagoon Park’s rebuilt campground now has 42 RV sites, a modern bathhouse and a live reservation system at 1921 DeLagoon Park Drive, a shift Fergus Falls leaders say turns a basic camping area into a stronger regional draw. The campground is scheduled to open May 1, with a ribbon cutting held April 28 at DeLagoon Campground.
The project went far beyond a cosmetic refresh. City planning materials from a 2015 master plan called for utility hookups, toilets and showers, a dump station and online reservations, along with broader park upgrades estimated at $5.2 million and an added annual campground operating cost of $18,575. Fergus Falls voters approved a 0.5% local sales tax in November 2022 to help pay for DeLagoon improvements and an aquatics project, and the Minnesota Department of Revenue has said the city imposed the tax to finance the aquatics center and the DeLagoon Improvement Project.

The city awarded the campground work to Comstock Construction Inc. on May 6, 2024. Construction updates showed the shower building in place by April 14, 2025, and work continued into June 2025 as the rebuild replaced the former layout that offered 14 RV hookups and 22 tent sites with no plumbing or electric service. The new campground includes 9 tent sites, 32 RV sites with partial hook-ups and 10 RV sites with full hook-ups, with in-season rates listed at $25 for tent sites, $50 for partial hook-up RV sites and $60 for full hook-up RV sites.

For Fergus Falls, the payoff reaches well beyond campers. The city says DeLagoon Park is already a regional destination for camping, disc golf, baseball, softball, soccer and BMX racing, and a more functional campground is meant to keep tournament families, anglers and weekend visitors in town longer. The rebuilt site gives the city a more modern public asset on Pebble Lake and a clearer return on a project designed to improve both recreation and local spending.
