Larry G. "Mooch" Persinger, a lifelong Cannelton fixture known to nearly everyone in Perry County by his nickname, passed away on March 20, 2026, at the age of 71.
Born October 16, 1954, Persinger grew up in Cannelton and graduated from Cannelton High School with the class of 1973. He remained in his hometown, spending the decades that followed as a long-time resident of the community where he was raised.
Memorial services are scheduled for March 24, with funeral arrangements handled by Huber Funeral Home in Cannelton. Huber Funeral Home, which holds the distinction of offering the first full-service funeral home in Perry County, operates its Cannelton chapel at 129 N. 6th Street.
