Perry County Library Hosts Weather Wonders Festival for Young Learners
Perry County Public Library's Tell City branch will host the Weather Wonders Festival on March 26, featuring eight interactive science stations and a Storm Squad Passport for kids ages 3–10.

The Perry County Public Library's Tell City branch will host the Weather Wonders Festival on March 26, a drop-in STEM and literacy event built around hands-on weather science for children ages 3 to 10.
Running from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at 2328 Tell Street, the free-format afternoon invites families to arrive anytime and work through eight interactive stations. Five are named on the library's event listing: Rain Clouds in a Jar, Tornado Tubes, Wind Art Painting, Rainbow Science, and a Weather Sensory Table, with additional stations also planned.
The library is adding a structured incentive to keep young visitors moving through the room. Kids will collect stamps in a Storm Squad Passport as they complete each station and earn a special badge upon finishing. The passport format gives children ages 3 through 10 a concrete goal to chase across the full event.
The Tell City branch is open Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Cannelton branch, located at 210 S. 8th Street, can be reached at 812-547-6028. The library's bookmobile operates out of the Tell City address and can be contacted at 812-547-2661.
The Weather Wonders Festival falls six days before Good Friday, which is listed among the library's 2026 closures on April 3. The next scheduled events on the library's calendar include Preschool Pals Storytime, a Spring Flower Box Craft, and Teen Tuesday in The Dungeon, all at the Tell City branch.
