Topsham Fair set for Aug. 9-16, 2026, in community calendar update

Topsham Fair is back on the Sagadahoc County calendar with a full week at 32 Community Way, and the 2026 dates now appear in two places with a slight split: the Maine agricultural fair program lists Aug. 9-16, while the fair’s own site lists Aug. 11-16 at the Topsham Fairgrounds. For local families, vendors and small businesses, that matters because a seven-day run brings a longer window for planning meals, parking, traffic and spending close to home.

The fair’s official 2026 schedule says admission is $15.00, with Senior Citizen’s Day on Tuesday, Aug. 11, and Wednesday, Aug. 12. Seniors 60 and over pay $5 admission on those days. The lineup also includes harness racing, truck pulling, ox pulling, a demolition derby and fireworks, giving the fair the kind of full schedule that draws both repeat visitors and first-timers from around the region.

Topsham Fair is promoting the 2026 edition as a 172-year celebration of Maine agriculture. That long run is part of why the event still carries weight in a county where farming has shaped the town’s identity and the fair remains a familiar summer marker. The Topsham Public Library says the annual fair has been held since its origination in 1856 and was started by the Sagadahoc Agricultural and Horticultural Society. The Pejepscot History Center says Topsham has held the fair, originally the Sagadahoc Agricultural Society Fair, for more than 150 years.

The fair’s regional draw also has practical implications for Sagadahoc County. One 2026 listing says Topsham Fair expects more than 30,000 visitors around the region, a crowd that can boost food sales, rides, livestock exhibits and other fairground spending while also increasing traffic on nearby roads. The Maine fair guide places Topsham alongside other summer fairs in Monmouth, Hiram, Skowhegan, Union and Waterford, and says Maine fair season runs through August with another 10 fairs scheduled for September and October. For Topsham residents, the key takeaway is simple: the fair is set, it lasts nearly a week, and August will bring one of the county’s biggest annual gatherings to 32 Community Way.
