Jamestown native Mason Lunzman continues baseball journey with Badlands Big Sticks

Mason Lunzman kept his baseball path in North Dakota this summer, joining the Badlands Big Sticks in Dickinson after a strong freshman season at Dickinson State and before he returns for his junior year.

The Jamestown native is getting his summer innings in the Northwoods League, where the Badlands Big Sticks play home games at Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark, 240 2nd St. SE in Dickinson. The setup has given Lunzman another stretch of competitive reps without leaving the state, a route that has carried him from Jamestown High School to Dickinson State.

Lunzman’s rise was already clear before he reached college. He was named to the 2023 Class A Baseball All-State Team, and on June 3, 2023, News Dakota reported that he was named Jamestown’s Outstanding Senior Athlete after the Jays finished fourth at the state tournament. Those honors marked him as one of the most accomplished players to come out of the Jamestown program in that class.

Dickinson State’s baseball roster lists Lunzman as a 2026 player, showing that he stayed with the Blue Hawks into the 2025-26 academic cycle.
