Coram Teen Charged After Man Shot Outside Apartment Complex

Dominick Tullon, 18, of Coram drew a handgun and fired four shots into a group of arguing men outside an apartment building at 24 Country Club Drive on Sunday night, striking a 38-year-old man who was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, Suffolk County Police said.
The argument escalated around 8:40 p.m., according to police. Tullon, who was among the men gathered in front of the building, opened fire during the dispute. The unidentified victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Patrol officers from the 6th Precinct in Selden canvassed the area and located Tullon, placing him in custody just after 9 p.m. Detectives charged him with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. His arraignment was scheduled for Monday, March 23.

The shooting on Country Club Drive was one of at least two gun incidents reported in Coram that Sunday evening. In a separate case, a 20-year-old man was shot about 8:15 p.m. while standing outside a home on Margaret Drive in what Suffolk County Police described as a targeted attack. An unidentified suspect opened fire in that incident, and the victim was also taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
