A 69-year-old Huntington Station woman was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries Sunday after an 18-year-old West Hills driver lost control of his Cadillac on Jericho Turnpike, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck her SUV head-on in a three-vehicle crash that left police at the scene for hours.

The collision occurred near Brooks Avenue in West Hills at approximately 3:04 p.m. on March 22, according to Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives.

Richard Bello, 18, of West Hills, was driving a 2006 Cadillac eastbound on Jericho Turnpike when he lost control and veered into westbound traffic, police said. The Cadillac struck a 2022 Honda CR-V head-on. That CR-V was driven by Alisa Globuschutz, 69, of Huntington Station, who was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious physical injuries.

The force of the head-on collision pushed Globuschutz's CR-V into a 2018 Honda Accord also traveling westbound. That vehicle was driven by Shreya Rana, 21, of Huntington Station. Rana and her 45-year-old passenger were not injured.

Bello and a 17-year-old passenger in his Cadillac were both taken to Huntington Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said. Officers remained at the scene as late as 8 p.m., more than four hours after the initial crash.

Second Squad detectives are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
