Summit County Clubhouse wins $90,000 Women’s Giving Fund grant

Park City Community Foundation named Summit County Clubhouse a Women’s Giving Fund 2026 high-impact grantee Thursday, awarding the mental health and substance use nonprofit $90,000. The Women’s Giving Fund set aside a total of $150,000 for three local nonprofits this year, with Summit County Clubhouse receiving the largest single grant.

The grant was celebrated July 15 at Park City Mountain’s Legacy Lodge, a day before the public announcement. For Summit County Clubhouse, the designation brings both money and a public signal that its work has become central enough to draw one of the fund’s top awards.

Summit County Clubhouse says it helps people with mental health and substance use challenges. Jen O’Brien, who joined the organization in August 2023 and is listed as executive director, now leads the group as it absorbs the latest infusion of private support.

The size of the award matters in a county where nonprofit groups face steep housing and operating costs, especially when they serve residents with behavioral-health needs. KPCW reported that the club house grant followed 300% growth, a sign the organization’s demand or scale has risen fast enough that outside funding is no longer just helpful, but necessary to keep pace.

That makes the $90,000 grant more than a ceremonial win. It can help stabilize staffing, strengthen program delivery and support the day-to-day capacity needed to serve Summit County residents who rely on mental health and substance use services. In a local system where public resources do not always meet demand, philanthropic dollars like these are increasingly carrying part of the load.

The Women’s Giving Fund has become one of Park City Community Foundation’s main local giving vehicles. The foundation says the fund has granted $658,000 to 14 organizations, a history that gives this year’s award added weight as it pushes money toward groups serving women, children and families in Summit County.

For Summit County Clubhouse, the grant comes at a moment of visible expansion and scrutiny. The question now is not only how the organization will use the $90,000, but how far a single philanthropic award can stretch in a community where behavioral-health needs continue to outpace the capacity of the systems built to serve them.
