Grande Ronde Hospital & Clinics is bringing its president and CEO to Union next Wednesday, giving residents of Union and Cove a direct line to hospital leadership at a free public forum set for 6 p.m. at the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show Clubhouse, 760 E. Delta Avenue.

Jeremy Davis, GRH's president and CEO, will lead the session as part of the hospital's "GRH on the Road" outreach series, which launched in September 2025 with an initial stop in Elgin. The April 8 event extends that conversation to Union and Cove, marking the series' push further into Union County communities.

Davis is expected to cover what GRH is celebrating, the financial and operational challenges facing rural hospitals, and what lies ahead for the organization and its patients. The session includes an open question-and-answer period, giving attendees a direct channel to raise concerns about service changes, specialty care access, staffing, or capital plans with the person running the hospital.

The series reflects GRH's stated aim of strengthening community ties by "showing up, listening, and having real conversations about local healthcare." No RSVP is required and the event is free.

The outreach comes amid wider regional attention to healthcare access in eastern Oregon. The Eastern Oregon Cancer Center in Pendleton reopened in March, one of several indications that local healthcare systems are working to restore and sustain services across the region. Rural hospitals throughout Oregon have faced mounting financial and workforce pressures, and GRH's traveling forum positions the La Grande-based hospital as engaging those pressures in public rather than behind closed doors.

Residents unable to attend April 8 can contact community liaison Karrine Brogoitti at 541-963-1480, or visit grh.org for additional information. GRH has indicated similar outreach events are planned for other Union County communities throughout the year.
