Lewisburg woman charged after violent domestic incident in East Buffalo Township
Police say a Brook Drive dispute turned violent, leaving a Lewisburg man injured and temporary hearing loss while Larissa Pittenger was jailed on $10,000 bail.

A Brook Drive domestic dispute in East Buffalo Township left a Lewisburg man with visible injuries and temporary hearing loss after police say 40-year-old Larissa Pittenger punched, scratched and strangled her husband. Pittenger was jailed on $10,000 bail after officers responded to the April 20 incident just outside Lewisburg borough limits.
Police said the victim was treated at the scene and later taken to a hospital. The charge list includes strangulation, assault and related offenses, making the case one of the more serious domestic-violence arrests to come out of the Lewisburg area this spring. The hearing-loss complaint adds another layer to the allegation, since it points to force beyond a verbal argument and gives investigators a medical detail they can tie to witness statements and treatment records as the case moves forward.
The arrest also underscores how quickly a domestic call can shift from a neighborhood disturbance to a courtroom matter in Union County. With Pittenger jailed, the immediate issue for the court will be the next round of hearings and the questions that often decide these cases: what happened inside the home, who saw it, and how the injuries were caused.
For victims in Union County, Pennsylvania law allows Protection From Abuse orders, which can bar contact, remove weapons, exclude an abuser from the home and, in some cases, grant temporary custody of children. State victim-services offices say anyone in immediate danger should call 911, and Pennsylvania also points survivors to the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE and text line 88788 for confidential support.
Local help is also close to home. Transitions of PA serves Union, Snyder and Northumberland counties from Lewisburg, with a 24/7 crisis hotline at 1-800-850-7948, the Union County office at (570) 523-6482, and legal advocacy for people seeking Protection From Abuse orders and other court help. The agency also offers shelter, counseling and medical advocacy for survivors.
