Union County Conservation District Takes Orders for $15 Tree Seedling Bundles
Eight species of bare-root seedlings, including American persimmon and shagbark hickory, are available in $15 bundles of 10 through April 1.

The Union County Conservation District is accepting orders for its 2026 tree seedling sale, with bare-root bundles of 10 seedlings priced at $15 and an order deadline of April 1.
Eight species are available this year: white spruce, Canaan fir, Chinese chestnut, American elderberry, shagbark hickory, chestnut oak, silver maple, and American persimmon. The district is also selling soil test kits for $10 and tree tube and stake sets for $5. Seedlings are suited for landscaping, wildlife habitat, erosion control, and windbreaks.
To place an order, call the district at 570-524-3860. The conservation district is now accepting all major credit cards. Orders and payment must be submitted by April 1.
Pickup is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, and Thursday, April 16, at the Union County Government Building, 155 N. 15th St., Lewisburg, located approximately one-half mile west of Route 15 between routes 45 and 192. The district reports Wednesday pickup hours run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., while Thursday hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., though the official county posting lists both days as ending at 4:30 p.m. Buyers should confirm their pickup window when placing an order. Customers will be contacted by telephone with their specific pickup time, and orders not retrieved by the scheduled date will not be held.

The district guarantees seedlings will be alive at the time of delivery, but as its policy states: "The conservation district cannot guarantee survival once seedlings have been picked up."
A Tree Sale Flyer and Tree Order Form are available on the County of Union Pennsylvania website for those who want full species descriptions before calling.
