Union County Libraries Release February Schedules for Lewisburg, Mifflinburg, Laurelton

The Public Library for Union County in Lewisburg released a detailed February calendar that highlights adult, teen, and children's programs designed to boost literacy, digital access, and community connection. Unless otherwise noted, all programs are free and open to the public.

The Piecemakers Quilt Guild of the Susquehanna Valley will meet Monday, Feb. 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; members and visitors are asked to bring their own materials and those attending all day may bring a bagged lunch. A Master Gardener seed swap is set for Monday, Feb. 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with organizers reminding participants to "label any seed packets you bring with the seed name and helpful details. Those without seeds are still welcome."

Children's programming emphasizes early learning and hands-on STEM. LEGO STEM Nights run Thursdays, Feb. 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Feb. 19 the Lewisburg Children's Museum will bring LEGO Spike kits and iPads for hands-on activities. The library will host Handmade with Hannah on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 10:30 a.m., where "Children can make a festive, heart-shaped pizza during this hands-on cooking program." Reading to Maverick and Craft is scheduled Saturday, Feb. 28, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

System-level programming includes a National Soup Day event at the Lewisburg branch on Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and West End Library in Laurelton will run a Maverick's Passport to Adventures reading challenge during February and March, allowing participants to "read, record, and earn rewards" and to earn stamps toward Maverick Dollars.
