Fairfield by Marriott Opens in Del Rio With Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Del Rio's first Marriott-branded hotel held its ribbon-cutting Tuesday, drawing the public with free tours and a mixer from 4 to 7 p.m.
Del Rio welcomed its first Marriott-branded hotel Tuesday when the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites cut the ribbon at its new location on North Bedell Avenue, marking a notable addition to the city's lodging inventory.
The Del Rio Chamber of Commerce co-hosted the event, listing it on the community calendar as a local business ribbon-cutting. The hotel is located at 2217 N. Bedell Ave. in Del Rio, a stretch of road that runs through the heart of the city's commercial corridor. The celebration ran from 4 to 7 p.m. CDT and included public tours of the property and a mixer open to the community.
The hotel sits just 2.5 miles from Del Rio International Airport and within reach of area landmarks including Lake Amistad, Val Verde Winery, the Whitehead Memorial Museum, and Laughlin Air Force Base. That location positions it to serve both the business travelers tied to Laughlin and the leisure visitors drawn to Amistad's waters each season.
The property features a fitness center, swimming pool, and hot tub, as well as a business center, meeting rooms, and a 24-hour front desk. Guests can also expect complimentary daily hot breakfast, free parking, a corner market, and 24-hour access to the fitness center.

An early guest who stayed on the hotel's first day open noted that the staff delivered strong service and that the property was brand new and spotlessly clean.
The Del Rio Chamber of Commerce can be reached at (830) 775-3551 or frontdesk@drchamber.com for information about Chamber events and member resources.
