Vinton County Band Boosters Host 4th Annual Viking Band Extravaganza March 28
Four Viking bands from grades 6-12 will perform at the 4th Annual Viking Band Extravaganza fundraiser this Saturday at Vinton County High School, with doors opening at 4 p.m.

The Vinton County High School Band Boosters are bringing the 4th Annual Viking Band Extravaganza to the Vinton County High School gymnasium this Saturday, March 28, with doors opening at 4 p.m. The event doubles as a fundraiser and a showcase, and it lands at a busy moment on the county's community calendar.
The event is hosted by Hillary McMannis Saunders, Jamie Frazier Chesser, Vinton County Bands, and the Vinton County High School Band Boosters, and will feature performances from all Viking Bands, grades six through 12, alongside Chinese and penny auctions, dessert raffles, and a spring craft bazaar.
The Extravaganza takes place Saturday, March 28, starting at 4 p.m. at Vinton County High School, located at 63910 US-50 in McArthur. Concessions will be available for purchase, and tickets for the Chinese/penny auction will be sold at $3 per ticket.
Vendor spaces are available for $20 per six-foot table, and vendors will be asked to donate a minimum of one $5 item for the Band Boosters raffle. Setup for vendors begins at 2 p.m. on the day of the event. To sign up as a vendor and submit payment, interested parties can visit the registration link on Zeffy. For more information and updates, the Vinton County High School Band Boosters maintain an official Facebook page.

The Extravaganza isn't the only community event filling the weekend. The Wilkesville Community Center hosts a Soup and Sandwich Dinner Fundraiser on Friday, March 27, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with donations accepted at the door. That event will debut new tables purchased through a grant from the Vinton County Community Fund. Also running March 27 through 29 is the Jackson Musical production of "Into the Woods."
Elsewhere in the county, Clinton Township has announced that eight of its cemeteries, Baird, Bethel, Bumgardner, Hamden, Matteson, Puritan, Zion, and Tarr Farm, will be cleaned beginning Wednesday, April 1. Families wishing to preserve grave decorations must remove them before that date; any items remaining after April 1 will be taken down.
