Vinton County Senior Center Shares Weekly Menus, Activities for March 17
The Vinton County Senior Center returned to its regular schedule after a disrupted week, with free Legal Aide services available to Jackson and Vinton County residents.

The Vinton County Senior Center resumed its normal operations after working through scheduling disruptions, publishing its weekly activity and menu notes with a packed calendar that included bingo, a Valentine's Party, a rescheduled Legal Aide session and a Health Department community program.
The center confirmed it was "back on schedule again after experiencing issues this past week." Anyone uncertain about daily availability due to weather was directed to call 740-596-4706, as all activities and transportation remained contingent on conditions.
The week of Feb. 9 opened with Exercise Bingo, followed by Four Winds bingo on Feb. 10. A Valentine's Day Party appeared on the schedule, though the two published sources carried slightly different dates: one listed Feb. 11, the other Feb. 12 alongside an "Activity with Patty" entry. Patrons were encouraged to call the center to confirm the exact date.
Legal Aide moved to Feb. 13 after a date change noted explicitly in the center's weekly bulletin. The service is free and open to residents of both Jackson and Vinton counties; appointments must be made by calling 740-596-4706. The center closed Feb. 18 for Presidents' Day.
On Feb. 21, the Health Department was scheduled to hold a program from 10 to 11:30 a.m. addressing needs in the community, open to all interested persons.
Menus published for the week of Feb. 9 started Monday with meatloaf, green beans, tater tots, bread and pears. A separate menu listing covered the following week in full: Monday featured an open-faced turkey sandwich with whipped potatoes, baby carrots, stuffing and fruit; Tuesday brought roast beef, baby bakers, a vegetable, roll, banana and pudding; Wednesday offered chicken with potatoes, greens, garlic sticks and pineapple; Thursday's plate included sausage, cabbage, green beans, rice pilaf, bread and mandarin oranges; and Friday closed the week with beef stew over biscuit, salad, crackers and peaches. All menus are subject to change.
Daybreak Adult Daycare continued to meet at the senior center Monday through Thursday. Anyone seeking enrollment or attendance information could reach Daybreak directly at 740-596-2303.
The center and its vans are handicap accessible, and services are provided on a non-discriminatory basis.
