Man Injured in Shooting at Raleigh Hotel Wednesday Afternoon
A man was shot Wednesday afternoon at the Wake Inn on New Bern Avenue, suffering non-life-threatening injuries. No suspect information has been released.
A man was shot around 1 p.m. at the Wake Inn, located at 3120 New Bern Ave. in east Raleigh, according to the Raleigh Police Department. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to WakeMed hospital.
As of Wednesday afternoon, police said they could not provide any information about a suspect, and the incident remained under investigation.
The Wake Inn sits along a stretch of New Bern Avenue that has drawn repeated law enforcement attention in recent years. The intersection of New Bern Avenue and Sunnybrook Road, just two miles southwest of Wednesday's shooting, has recorded more violent crime than any other location in Raleigh, according to a WRAL News analysis.
Raleigh police have not announced any arrests in connection with Wednesday's shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
