WakeMed, Rezilient Health Open Hybrid CloudClinic in Clayton

A ribbon-cutting at 1685 Old U.S. Hwy 70 in Clayton on March 17 marked the arrival of the fourth "Rezilient with WakeMed" CloudClinic in the Triangle, a hybrid care model that blends telehealth with in-person visits to deliver same-day and next-day concierge primary care, urgent care, and specialty consults.

The Clayton site joins three existing CloudClinics in Cary, Chapel Hill, and North Raleigh, completing the initial network the two organizations announced in December 2025. WakeMed President and CEO Donald Gintzig framed the partnership as an extension of the health system's longstanding community mission.

"WakeMed has always been committed to improving the health and well-being of our community," Gintzig said. "By partnering with Rezilient, we can bring an innovative, prevention-focused care model directly to employees and local employers — one that connects on-site screenings, primary care, and our specialist and hospital services in a seamless experience."

Services are currently available at no cost to WakeMed medical plan members. The program is scheduled to expand to corporate clients across the Research Triangle in 2027, according to WakeMed's March 17 press release and a Rezilient Health blog post published the day before. An earlier projection, reported by Becker's Hospital Review in December 2025, had anticipated that corporate rollout would begin in 2026.

Each CloudClinic pairs virtual physician access with on-site staff and diagnostic tools, according to Becker's coverage of the December partnership announcement. The clinics are designed to operate alongside WakeMed's existing network of more than 175 physician practice locations. Rezilient's physicians and advanced practice providers are independent of WakeMed but hold credentials on the WakeMed Medical Staff, a distinction the health system emphasized in its press release to clarify the employment arrangement.

Becker's reported in December that WakeMed planned to offer the benefit initially to more than 12,000 employees and dependents covered under its medical plan, though WakeMed's March materials referenced "medical plan members" without specifying a count. The Cary CloudClinic is located at 200 Asheville Ave, Suite 30; addresses for the Chapel Hill and North Raleigh sites were not included in available materials.

WakeMed described itself as one of the first U.S. health systems to integrate Rezilient's hybrid care delivery model at scale. The Clayton opening positions Johnston County residents within that network for the first time, bringing concierge-style access to a corridor that has grown rapidly as families have relocated south and east of Raleigh.
