Alexandra Winokur Named Deputy CEO of LVMH North America, March 2026
Alexandra Winokur will become deputy CEO of LVMH North America, effective March 2, 2026, reporting to Michael Burke and succeeding Anish Melwani after a transition period.

LVMH has appointed Alexandra Winokur deputy chief executive officer of LVMH North America, a role she assumes effective March 2, 2026, and in which she will report directly to Michael Burke, chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH Americas. She succeeds Anish Melwani, who is leaving the group after a transition period, and will be charged with driving strategic growth and operational excellence across the group’s portfolio of Maisons in the region.
Michael Burke framed the hire as a strategic reinforcement of the region, saying, “North America is of paramount strategic importance to LVMH and the enduring desirability of our maisons. I am pleased to welcome Alexandra, who will undoubtedly help us further grow our presence and uphold our uncompromising standards of excellence throughout our operations.” Burke also offered his thanks to Melwani: “My deepest thanks go to Anish for his passionate leadership and impactful contribution to our group and maisons in North America. He leaves behind an extremely committed team, whose outstanding management of the local business is widely recognized by the industry.” LVMH added that Winokur “will strengthen the community of local brand presidents, providing direction on key topics such as client experience, retail and digital innovation to foster and accelerate the group’s local ambitions.”

Winokur joins the regional corporate team from Christian Dior Couture, where she served as president of the Americas after joining Dior in March 2023. Her résumé spans finance and retail: she began her career in 2000 as a financial analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co., moved to Guggenheim in 2003 and there spearheaded the launch of Tory Burch LLC, remaining with Tory Burch through the end of 2008 in roles that included director, retail and web and vice president of boutiques. Her fashion leadership credits include senior retail and merchandising posts at Marc Jacobs, more than five years as a vice president at Louis Vuitton Americas, a Group Vice President role for North America retail at Tiffany & Co., and senior vice president of commercial for Cartier North America, where she led all commercial activities in the United States and Canada including sales channels, High Jewelry and Fragrance.
In her new deputy CEO remit Winokur will oversee a broad retail and manufacturing presence in North America, strengthen the community of local brand presidents and provide direction on client experience, retail and digital innovation to accelerate LVMH’s local ambitions. The appointment arrives as French luxury brands navigate tariffs, distribution challenges and falling prices in the North American market, underscoring why regional leadership and digital acceleration are central to LVMH’s strategy.
The move is one of several senior leadership shifts in the luxury sector this quarter, with contemporaneous appointments including Carlo Mocci to a chief client role at Kering and Francesca Nardi to global communications director at Balenciaga. Winokur, who holds a bachelor’s degree in art history and French from Duke University, lives between New York City and McLean, Virginia with her husband and remains engaged with art, design, Duke basketball and tennis. Her immediate task will be to translate Dior-scale operational experience into cross-Maison coordination and to fast-track client-facing and digital initiatives across LVMH’s North American footprint.
