Aryna Sabalenka Engaged to Georgios Frangulis, Instagram Video Shows Massive Diamond Ring
World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka shared a joint Instagram video showing Georgios Frangulis proposing with a massive oval-cut diamond.

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka announced her engagement to Brazilian businessman Georgios Frangulis with a joint Instagram video and the caption “You & me, forever,” posting the clip as outlets reported March 4, 2026. The clip’s caption in some screenshots reads “You & me, forever ♾ 3.3.26 💍🤍,” a date stamp that aligns with the on-camera proposal footage.
The proposal itself is staged poolside in a rose-filled tableau: the pool surface is shown covered in white rose petals, with pink flowers and candles arranged around an outdoor setting. The video shows Georgios Frangulis kneeling to propose while Big Jay McNeely’s “There Is Something on Your Mind” plays in the background, and Sabalenka appears surprised and briefly stunned before the couple share follow-up clips showing their rings to the camera.
The engagement ring dominates the close-ups. Multiple clips and screenshots describe the stone as a massive, oval-cut diamond that is “hard to miss” on camera; neither a carat weight nor a jeweler has been disclosed. Sabalenka also posted behind-the-scenes Instagram Story footage and wrote verbatim, “Well, I obviously had NO idea this was happening tonight” with a laughing-face emoji, later turning the camera to herself at a dinner table dressed casually in a white T-shirt and jeans with minimal makeup.
Sabalenka and Frangulis first sparked public romance in 2024 after a chance business connection brought them together, and Frangulis has been a frequent courtside presence since. In previous interviews cited in coverage, Sabalenka said of him, “There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side,” adding he was “always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff.” Ahead of the 2026 Australian Open she thanked her boyfriend and said, “Hopefully soon I can call you something else,” a prelude that now reads like confirmation of their engagement.

The announcement lands amid Sabalenka’s busy season on tour. She is the world No. 1 and a four-time Grand Slam champion, winning the Australian Open in 2023 and 2024 and the U.S. Open in 2024 and 2025, and she reached the Australian Open final on Jan. 31, losing to Elena Rybakina 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. NBC Bay Area noted that congratulations quickly poured in from fellow players including Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic and Amanda Anisimova, and coverage referenced that the Indian Wells tournament opens Wednesday, marking Sabalenka’s first tournament since the Australian Open final.
The social-video record is the couple’s only public statement on the engagement so far; the Instagram clip itself and accompanying story provide the visual and captioned narrative. What remains unconfirmed in public records are the ring’s specifications beyond the oval shape and its apparent size, the ring’s maker, and any wedding timeline. For now the image of a rose-strewn pool, a kneeling proposal and a prominent oval diamond is the closest thing to an official announcement from Sabalenka and Frangulis.
