The Cincinnati Open Sporting Club will open to the public Monday, March 16 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, offering year-round tennis, pickleball and padel alongside dining, retail, events and member programming as part of a $260 million campus transformation completed in 2025. The facility sits on the western edge of the Lindner Family Tennis Center and was built to expand use of the grounds beyond the tournament window.

The Sporting Club is housed primarily in a 56,000 square-foot Clubhouse and a 53,000 square-foot Indoor Tennis Center. The renovation nearly doubled the campus size and included the club that players used during the most recent tournament. Jansen Dell, chief operating officer of the Cincinnati Open, said, “The Cincinnati Open Sporting Club was created as a place for people to come together and feel a true sense of community.”

Court inventory is specific and substantial: 31 outdoor tennis courts, six indoor tennis courts, six outdoor pickleball courts and two padel courts that the club describes as the first in Ohio. The club will offer tennis, pickleball and padel memberships that include indoor and outdoor court reservations, venue access, special programming and member discounts, and the club says members and guests will have the opportunity to play on the same courts as the world’s top professional players.

Programming and junior development will be run in partnership with the Cincinnati Tennis Foundation. The foundation’s team of pros will provide instruction across tennis, pickleball and padel, and the nonprofit will manage a Junior Academy offering training, fitness support and college preparation guidance for aspiring players.

Dining is a major part of the build-out. The Sporting Club restaurant, led by Executive Chef Andrew Alcid, will open for lunch and dinner beginning March 16 and is described as upscale-casual with elevated American cuisine focused on simple, familiar dishes. Dell noted continuity between player and public spaces, saying, “The dining room that the players use is a year-round restaurant,” and “The lounge space will be the same for our players.” Jeff Smith, chief revenue officer for the tournament, framed the transformation as a change in use, saying, “A world-class facility that traditionally has kind of laid dormant for the better part of the year is now open and living and breathing and dynamic and operational 365.”

On-site retail will be operated daily by Midwest Racquet Sports, and the Sporting Club will serve as the clubhouse for the Grizzly Golf Course. The club will host public and private events including meetings, weddings and fundraisers, with customized event setups, in-house catering, audio/visual capabilities and on-site support; bookings are handled via events@cincytennis.com.

The campus expansion was completed in partnership with the City of Mason, Warren County and the State of Ohio and will also host state-level and regional competitions; the Lindner Family Tennis Center will continue to be home to the OHSAA boys and girls tennis state championship and has hosted professional pickleball events in the past. An open house is scheduled for Sunday, March 1 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the March 16 public opening marks the club’s push to keep the Lindner Family Tennis Center active year-round.
