Father pays tribute after three sisters found dead in Brighton sea
A father said the pain of losing three daughters was beyond words after Jane Adetoro, Christina Walter and Rebecca Walter were found dead off Brighton beach.

A father has paid tribute to his three daughters after their bodies were recovered from the sea off Brighton beach, saying: "No words can truly describe the pain of losing three daughters in the prime of their lives."
Sussex Police formally identified the women as sisters Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walter, 32, and Rebecca Walter, 31, from the Uxbridge area of London. Emergency services were called to the beach near Black Rock car park off Madeira Drive at about 5.45am BST on Wednesday 13 May 2026, after a report that a person was in the water. The bodies of three women were later recovered nearby.
Joseph, the sisters’ father, said the tragedy had left an emptiness that words could not heal. In his tribute, he described Jane, Christina and Becky as his joy, strength and beautiful light, and said they would be forever loved, forever missed and forever remembered.

Police said the next of kin were being supported by specialist officers as the family faced the aftermath of the deaths. The case has drawn intense attention in Brighton, where the women were found, and in London, where they lived.
Sussex Police said there was currently no evidence to suggest third-party involvement or criminality. Detectives have reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV and made enquiries at properties and businesses around the beach area as they try to establish how the sisters came to be in the water.

Officers are also working with partners in Brighton and London to trace the women’s last movements. Police said they were exploring a number of hypotheses about what happened, as the investigation continues to focus on the final hours before the sisters were found dead in the sea.
