GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) and Orlen Synthos Green Energy (OSGE) signed a Poland Generic Design Agreement (PGDA) on February 25, 2026 to develop a country-specific, generically applicable design of the BWRX-300 small modular reactor for use in Poland. The PGDA formalizes technical collaboration on adapting the BWRX-300 to Polish regulatory and site conditions.
GVH is the joint GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy entity developing the BWRX-300 platform and OSGE is the Polish joint venture formed by Orlen and Synthos. The agreement names both GVH and Orlen Synthos Green Energy as the primary parties responsible for producing a Poland-focused version of the BWRX-300 design package.
The Poland Generic Design Agreement framework in this case is explicitly aimed at producing a generically applicable design that can be used within Poland. That means GVH and OSGE will take the baseline BWRX-300 concept and adapt systems, interfaces, and documentation to meet Polish technical requirements and to support subsequent regulatory submissions in Poland.
Signing on February 25, 2026 positions the BWRX-300 design work inside a Polish corporate vehicle through OSGE, where Orlen and Synthos hold governance. The arrangement gives Orlen and Synthos direct ownership of the country-specific design effort while GVH supplies the vendor design, engineering deliverables, and platform know-how for the BWRX-300 SMR.

Next steps under the PGDA will focus on detailed design work and the production of documentation intended for Polish licensing pathways and site assessments. The PGDA creates a pathway for technical deliverables tailored to Poland and sets the stage for OSGE to carry those deliverables into regulatory engagement and commercial planning with Polish authorities and potential off-takers.
The Feb 25, 2026 PGDA marks a concrete milestone in GVH and OSGE collaboration on deploying the BWRX-300 in Poland. With Orlen and Synthos steering the Polish joint venture, the agreement moves the BWRX-300 from vendor concept toward a Poland-specific design package ready for regulatory and project-level integration. Watch for subsequent filings and project announcements that draw directly from the PGDA deliverables.
