The TTFI-2 Open State-Level Table Tennis Championship is underway in Jaipur at the Wonkar Table Tennis Academy, running January 6 across five days with roughly 325 players and more than 610 entries. The tournament is producing standout junior winners and strong veteran participation, with organisers using the event to promote the sport in Rajasthan and prepare players for national-level competition.

The state-level TTFI-2 Open is in full swing in Jaipur, bringing a wide cross-section of players to the Wonkar Table Tennis Academy in Vaishali Nagar. Running from January 6 across five days, the championship has drawn roughly 325 competitors and over 610 entries across age groups and categories, making it one of the larger grassroots events on the local calendar this season.
Early rounds have yielded several notable junior champions who are likely to become fixtures on the state circuit. In U-11 boys play, Rishabh Sankhala captured the title with Dhruvan Dangi finishing as runner-up. The U-11 girls crown went to Kaushiki of Tonk. Jaipur’s own Dev Soni took the U-13 boys title, while Bhuvansh Raj Meena from Sirohi has emerged as a multi-category force, securing the U-15 boys crown and later adding the U-17 boys title. On the girls’ side, Pratyusha Sharma of Jaipur won the U-15 division and Dimpy Sharma claimed the U-17 girls title.
Beyond the junior brackets, the championship features men’s, women’s and veteran sections, with veteran age groups spanning from 39+ up to 80+. That breadth ensures competitive play for established players and an inclusive pathway for older athletes to continue competing. The mix of categories is significant for local clubs and coaches because it creates consistent match experience across ages and abilities, which helps in long-term player development.

Organisers say the event aims to promote table tennis across Rajasthan and to ready promising players for national-level events. For coaches and players, the tournament offers practical benefits: match practice under tournament conditions, exposure to different playing styles, and a chance for selectors to monitor form ahead of national selections. For clubs and the local table tennis community, the event provides visibility, encourages youth participation, and strengthens the competitive calendar in Jaipur.
Remaining matches and the prize distribution were scheduled to take place in the days after this report. Spectators and family members continue to turn out at the academy, keeping a lively atmosphere as the state’s emerging talent competes for rankings and recognition.
