Malaysia’s Epic Golden Ticket Challenge set for Jan 30–Feb 1 in Selangor
Pickle361 announced the Epic Golden Ticket Challenge for Jan 30–Feb 1 at Monkey Canopy Resort, with DUPR banding, RM20,840 prize pool, and registration open through Jan 23.

Pickle361 published a full tournament announcement on Jan 11 for the Epic Golden Ticket Challenge, a three-day event scheduled Jan 30 to Feb 1 at Monkey Canopy Resort in Selangor, Malaysia. The event will welcome Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced divisions with DUPR-based caps on entries, a total prize package of RM20,840 and a clear match and reporting framework aimed at competitive but community-friendly play.
The tournament format pairs a round-robin group stage with knockout rounds, giving teams multiple guaranteed matches before elimination play. Each match is structured as a multi-game fixture: womens doubles, mens doubles and mixed doubles will be played within the same match. Tiebreaks for matches that split 2-2 will use the DreamBreaker™ rules, and the organiser has published substitution rules and DUPR reporting notes so results feed accurately into player records.
Prize breakdowns are published per division, with the Advanced division awarding RM3,200 for first place, RM2,400 for second and RM1,200 for third as examples of the payout structure. The total purse of RM20,840 provides modest rewards while keeping the focus on development and match play across levels. Registration closes Jan 23 and the fee is set at RM800 per team; signups are managed through the organiser’s Sportssync registration page.
The schedule includes group check-ins and optional evening social sessions branded Pickle Roulette, offering casual doubles play for players looking to warm up, test pairings or network with other picklers. Hosting the event at Monkey Canopy Resort gives visiting players the chance to combine courtside action with short-stay convenience, which can be useful for clubs organising travel or for players balancing weekend commitments.

For Asian picklers tracking DUPR movement and competitive opportunities, the event is notable for its explicit DUPR banding. That helps organisers keep competitive balance across divisions and gives newer players a clearer pathway to step up without being overwhelmed by wide rating mismatches. Advanced players get competitive intensity and prize incentives, while developing players have guaranteed match volume thanks to the round-robin format.
Our two cents? Check your DUPR band and lock in your partner now, budget RM800 per team and register by Jan 23 so you don’t miss the golden ticket. If you want match practice and social court time, sign up for the Pickle Roulette evenings—good for sharpening doubles chemistry and making contacts for future events.
