PACHA debuts USDA Organic Sourdough Buckwheat Tortilla, expanding to 200 Target stores

At Natural Products Expo West on February 27, 2026, PACHA debuted an updated USDA Certified Organic Sourdough Buckwheat Tortilla and announced an expansion into approximately 200 Target stores on the U.S. West Coast with shelf availability slated for May 2026. The company also entered Expo West’s NEXTY Awards Finalist list in the Gluten-Free Product category during the show.

The formulation PACHA presented at Expo West 2026 lists three ingredients: sprouted buckwheat, psyllium husk, and sea salt. PACHA describes the refined recipe as delivering noticeably improved pliability and durability while preserving the brand’s sourdough buckwheat flavor without using gums, binders, or ultra-processed additives. That updated three-ingredient description contrasts with the two-ingredient formulation PACHA introduced the prior year, which consisted of sprouted buckwheat and sea salt.

PACHA first brought sourdough buckwheat tortillas to Expo West in March 2025 and launched the original product on its website on March 11, 2025. At that time PACHA listed a suggested retail price of $9.99 per pack of eight fajita-sized tortillas. The February 27, 2026 materials list a $9.49 per pack price for the updated product; both price points are on the record for different moments in the rollout.

Retail expansion beyond Target has been aggressive. PACHA materials indicate a Whole Foods Market rollout of tortillas across more than 500 locations in December and a broader Q4 push that will place PACHA sourdough loaves, tortillas, and English muffins into 2,400 new stores across Albertsons, Whole Foods Market, and Sprouts Farmers Market. Separately, Albertsons plans to introduce three PACHA SKUs, Original Buckwheat Loaf, Cinnamon Raisin Loaf, and Original English Muffins, across 791 stores in the Denver, Chicago, NorCal, and Southwest divisions starting this quarter.

Sustainability and supply-chain specifics are part of PACHA’s pitch. The company sources 100 percent of its buckwheat from U.S. regenerative farms through a partnership with Field Theory that supports more than 1,500 acres, produces in a dedicated allergen-free facility in San Diego, and has moved to compostable packaging. PACHA has also joined a Purpose Pledge, a corporate governance initiative centered on measurable commitments across operations and supply chains.

With the updated USDA Certified Organic recipe now public, a West Coast Target rollout scheduled for May 2026, NEXTY finalist recognition, and multi-banner retail distribution underway, PACHA is staging a rapid push to move fermented, allergen-free sourdough staples from niche online launches into mainstream grocery aisles.
