Saffron Road Launches Crossroads Frozen Pasta Line with Protein-Packed Global Flavors
Saffron Road announced Crossroads, a frozen pasta line with global mashups like Beef Birria Rigatoni and Butter Chicken Cavatappi, each with at least 24g protein and rolling out in March.

Saffron Road unveiled Crossroads, a frozen pasta line that pairs familiar formats with global sauces and proteins and will begin rolling out at retailers nationwide in March. The brand will debut the line for sampling at Natural Products Expo West, March 4–6 in Anaheim, Hall E, Booth 5621.
Crossroads is pitched as a mashup concept that "reimagines pasta night through fearless culinary innovation" under the tagline No Borders. Just Flavors. The initial lineup includes Beef Birria Rigatoni described as slow-braised birria and rigatoni folded into a smoky guajillo-chipotle sauce, Butter Chicken Cavatappi billed as creamy butter chicken with spiraled cavatappi and melty mozzarella, and a Cheesy Korean‑Inspired entry rendered as sweet-heat gochujang swirled with pillowy ravioli. Additional SKUs called out in launch materials are Hatch Chile Chicken Pesto, described as grilled white meat chicken and bowtie pasta tossed in a bold Hatch chile-basil pesto with Parmesan cheese, and Lemon Miso Chicken Alfredo, described as silky fettuccine swirled in a creamy lemon-miso Alfredo layered with grilled white meat chicken.
Nutrition and ingredient claims are central to the Crossroads pitch. Company materials state that each entrée features at least 24g of protein per serving, offers low or no added sugar, and is packaged in a plant-based fiber tray. Saffron Road also frames Crossroads as part of its shift away from seed oils, stating the brand is Seed Oil Free Certified and saying it "recently made history as the FIRST Seed Oil Free Certified entrée line in the world."
Those claims build on a broader brand renovation announced in August 2025, when Saffron Road said the refresh would include 50% to 100% more chicken or lamb in respective entrées, elimination of seed oils like canola and soybean from core recipes, and a transition to plant-based, sustainably sourced compostable fiber trays. The Crossroads packs continue that visual overhaul with a two-color design approach: each package unites two bold colors and distinct patterns, one on each side, anchored by the Saffron Road shield.
Founder and CEO Adnan Durrani framed the strategy in the brand renovation, saying, "Modern consumers especially the premium Better-For-You cohorts, are demanding more- more protein, more transparency and more purpose. Saffron Road answered that call by fortifying our ingredients, boosting our protein density, and super charging our recipes with even more nourishment. We are driving the premiumization of the entrée category by using more premium oils — like olive oil and avocado oil — that elevate both flavor and quality. We did all of this while continuing to stay true to our north star- Culinary Excellence," said Adnan Durrani, Founder & CEO of Saffron Road. "This renovation isn't just a cleaner label—it's a culinary revolution in the frozen aisle. Indeed, we are also once again raising the bar on modern cuisine by being the first frozen entrée in the world to be Seed
Saffron Road is presenting Crossroads as a Certified B Corp offering that aims to reset expectations for what frozen meals can deliver on flavor and ingredients. With a national rollout slated for March and sampling at Expo West in Anaheim, the brand is pushing its protein-forward, seed-oil free positioning onto retail shelves and into shoppers' pasta nights.
