Nintendo will launch Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park worldwide on March 26, 2026, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 system, expanding the original October 20, 2023 title with new multiplayer-focused content and amiibo tie-ins. Pre-orders are available now on Nintendo eShop, and Nintendo’s Jan. 22, 2026 trailer and product pages present the Switch 2 Edition as a platform-specific expansion aimed at social play.

Nintendo said Switch 2 owners who already have Super Mario Bros. Wonder on Nintendo Switch can access the Switch 2 content by purchasing an upgrade pack, noting explicitly, "A copy of Super Mario Bros. Wonder is required to use this upgrade pack." The company’s YouTube description reiterates pre-orders and the Switch 2 exclusivity while advertising new multiplayer features and amiibo launching alongside the game.

The Switch 2 Edition adds a new world called Bellabel Park plus multiplayer hubs Attraction Central and Camp Central. Nintendo’s trailer copy promises new cooperative and competitive modes, and the YouTube description invites players to "track down treasure stolen by the Koopalings." Nintendo’s marketing also states, "Whether you’re looking for new ways to play together or new content to enjoy on your own, you’ll find it when Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park arrives on March 26 for Nintendo Switch 2."

Playable characters and NPCs are expanded for the Switch 2 Edition. Rosalina and Luma are confirmed as a joint-playable character, and multiple sources note Koopalings will appear in the edition, with Nintendo materials framing them as antagonists in treasure-focused gameplay. The Mariowiki entry lists Baby Yoshis and Brigade Blue Toad among familiar faces and provides creature details including: "A Poplin with a similar headlamp and backpack to Captain Toad who helps Captain Toad track the Koopalings," "A Poplin marching band from Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park | Dark green Poplins that act as a marching band around Bellabel Park," "A Gray Poplin from Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park | A brown Poplin with a magnifying glass," and "A Tip-Tap from Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park Tip-Tap") | A golden Lakitu's Cloud-like creature with arms that throws coins down on players by playing the drums."

Three new amiibo will launch alongside the Switch 2 Edition on March 26: Elephant Mario; Poplin & Prince Florian; and Captain Toad & Talking Flower. Nintendo materials state, "Launching alongside Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park on March 26 are three new amiibo5. Elephant Mario, Poplin & Prince Florian and Captain Toad & Talking Flower are all coming to join the fun," and footnotes remind buyers that "amiibo sold separately." A previously announced Talking Flower product is scheduled for release on March 12, 2026, and Nintendo tied the Switch 2 Edition announcement to a Super Mario Run app event with themed missions and in-game rewards running until April 3.

Technical and multiplayer caveats accompany the release. Nintendo’s footnotes state, "Nintendo Switch 2 system must initiate GameShare session. Users who receive game via GameShare can only play the game during the session in which it was shared. Shared game will not be playable after the session ends." The company also warns, "Additional accessories may be required for multiplayer mode. Sold separately," and that "Internet connection required during online play. To use online services, you must create a Nintendo Account and accept the related agreement. The Nintendo Account Privacy Policy applies. Some online services may not be available in all countries. Online play requires paid online membership."

The Switch 2 Edition rides on strong sales and acclaim for the original game: "The game became the fastest-selling Super Mario game, selling 4.3 million units in its first two weeks and reaching 16.03 million units by March 31, 2025. It received critical acclaim and was nominated for several awards, including the Golden Joystick Award for Game of the Year, The Game Award for Game of the Year and the British Academy Games Award for Best Game." Nintendo posted the Jan. 22 trailer on its Nintendo of America YouTube channel, where the video recorded 911,246 views and 32,605 likes in the cited metadata, and the transcript includes character exclamations such as "[Rosalina] -Oh! Let’s go! ... [Mario] -Oh, yeah!" and the line "Super Mario Brothers Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Plus Meetup in Bellabel Park launches on Nintendo Switch 2 March 26th."

Localization notes list English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Dutch, French (Canada), French (Europe), German, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Europe), Russian, Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Europe), and Thai. Retail, customer support, and platform teams should prepare for the March 12 Talking Flower rollout and the March 26 Switch 2 Edition release and amiibo launches.
