Woman dies after Sheffield city centre shooting, three arrested
A 30-year-old woman died after a shooting outside One Four One bar, and police arrested two men and a woman as West Street was shut down.

A 30-year-old woman died after being found with serious injuries outside One Four One bar on West Street in Sheffield city centre, turning a late-night incident in one of the city’s busiest nightlife streets into a murder investigation.
South Yorkshire Police were called to the scene at 2.45am on Monday 25 May 2026. Officers said they found evidence consistent with a firearms discharge outside the bar. The woman was taken to hospital but later died there.
Police said three people, two men and a woman, were arrested in connection with the incident and remained in custody. The force did not immediately release further details about those arrested.

West Street was closed between Mappin Street and Westfield Terrace while officers worked at the scene. Eldon Street, Westhill Lane and part of Orange Street were also shut, and tram and bus routes into the city centre were disrupted as police urged drivers to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
The shooting took place on a stretch of road that sits at the heart of Sheffield’s evening economy, lined with bars, pubs, restaurants and takeaways and served by nearby tram stops. West Street is one of the city’s busiest and best-known late-night corridors, which made the report of gunfire outside a bar especially alarming for people heading into the city centre on a holiday night.

The case has now moved into a homicide inquiry, with detectives expected to continue examining the scene, the arrests and the circumstances that led to the woman’s death. For Sheffield city centre, the immediate impact was visible in the cordons, the transport disruption and the closure of a street that usually draws crowds well into the early hours.
