Four IHSAA Boys Basketball State Championships Set for Gainbridge Fieldhouse Saturday
Two programs making their first-ever state title appearances headline Saturday's IHSAA boys basketball finals, where four championships are on the line at Gainbridge Fieldhouse March 28.

Crown Point and Mt. Vernon meet in a rematch of the Hall of Fame Classic championship, a game Crown Point won 60-56 on December 23, but the stakes Saturday look nothing like December. It is the first state championship appearance in program history for both the Marauders and the Bulldogs. That alone makes the Class 4A nightcap worth the price of admission. The rest of the card is just as compelling.
All four IHSAA boys basketball state championship games are set for Saturday, March 28 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The day opens with the smallest schools and builds toward what figures to be the most narratively loaded nightcap in Indianapolis.
Triton is returning to the state finals for the first time since 2013 when it lost to Borden. The Trojans, now 25-3, tip off against Barr-Reeve at 10:30 a.m. in the Class 1A championship. Triton defeated North Vermillion 51-45 in the north semistate championship after taking down Tri-County 78-46 earlier in the day. Barr-Reeve arrives at 27-1 after surviving a south semistate bracket that included Liberty Christian and Hauser.
The Class 2A title game between Parke Heritage and Westview tips at approximately 12:45 p.m. ET. Westview last played in the state finals in 2014, falling to Park Tudor, and won back-to-back titles in 1999 and 2000. The Warriors defeated Fort Wayne Luers 69-48 in the Class 2A north semistate final to reach Indianapolis at 27-1. Parke Heritage has won 13 straight, beat Triton Central and Linton-Stockton in semistate, and is looking for its first state title in its second state championship appearance.
The evening session opens at 6 p.m. with the Class 3A final between Cathedral and New Haven. Cathedral, at 24-5, is back at the state championship for the fifth time in program history. The Fighting Irish worked through a tight semistate at Seymour, beating Silver Creek 73-68 in the championship game. New Haven, at 22-7, won the opposing semistate bracket by defeating Columbia City 59-55.
Mt. Vernon enters the Class 4A finale having won 10 straight games, capped by a dominant run at New Castle Fieldhouse where the Marauders beat Decatur Central 66-46 and then topped New Albany 77-69 in the semistate championship. The Marauders are led by Purdue commit Luke Ertel, who had a triple-double against New Albany to send Mt. Vernon to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Crown Point reached the final from the opposite bracket, beating Northridge 66-40 in its semistate championship.
All tickets are reserved seating for one two-game session and are digital-only, available through Ticketmaster.com or in person at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse box office. All four games stream live via pay-per-view on IHSAAtv.org at $20 per game or $25 for the full day.
