IBCA Names Aldridge, Schlabach, Hunter Players of the Week for Sectionals
Keaton Aldridge Jr. hit a game-winner with 1.9 seconds left and finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists as Cathedral edged Brebeuf Jesuit 69-67.

Keaton Aldridge Jr. posted a double-double, hit the game-winning shot with 1.9 seconds to play, and still found time to dish seven assists. That kind of line earns you hardware, and the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association agreed, naming the Cathedral senior its District 2 Player of the Week for Week 19 of the 2025-26 season.
The 6-4 forward was the headliner among three honorees the IBCA announced March 17, with Westview junior Austin Schlabach and Silver Creek junior Brandon Hunter earning district recognition alongside him. Five teams also received IBCA honors: Decatur Central, New Haven, North Vermillion, Northridge and Tri-County.
Aldridge's moment came in the Martinsville Regional, where Class 3A No. 3 Cathedral edged Class 3A No. 10 Brebeuf Jesuit 69-67. He finished 7-of-14 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line for 22 points, pulling down 10 rebounds and adding three steals to go with those seven assists. Cathedral improved to 22-5 with the win over its Indianapolis rival.
Schlabach's performance in the North Judson Regional was equally hard to overlook. The District 1 honoree poured in 33 points as Class 2A No. 3 Westview held off Class 2A No. 7 Gary 21st Century Charter 63-59, pushing the Warriors' record to 25-1. The 6-2 guard shot 11-of-16 from the field, including 2-of-3 from three-point range, and converted 9-of-12 free throws. He also contributed nine rebounds and six assists, turning in the kind of complete game that wins regional matchups with a point to spare.

Hunter's selection as the District 3 boys Player of the Week rounds out the trio, though the IBCA release did not include a specific game stat line for the Silver Creek junior.
Week 19 covers the March 9-14 sectional and regional window, the deepest and most pressure-packed stretch of the Indiana high school basketball calendar. For Aldridge and Schlabach in particular, the numbers held up under that pressure in ways most players never get to find out.
