IHSAA Girls Regional Championships: Complete Feb. 14 Results Across Indiana
Heritage Christian ripped off a 35-2 run in a 71-29 regional rout, while Tindley survived Trinity Lutheran in a 3OT classic and Washington beat Evansville Central in OT.

Heritage Christian stormed past its regional opponent 71-29, punctuating the run with a 35-2 spurt that flipped the game into a rout and punched the Hawks’ ticket to semistate. The 71-29 margin appears in multiple regional lists, although the opponent is variously labeled Union County and Union City in the compiled reports; that naming discrepancy remains to be confirmed with official IHSAA results.
Several semifinal berths were settled across Indiana’s regional sites Saturday. In Class 4A, Lawrence Central defeated Pike 61-52 at Greencastle, Center Grove edged Pendleton Heights 50-45 at Greenfield-Central, Northridge beat Valparaiso 51-50 at Jimtown, and Evansville Reitz knocked off Columbus North 56-45 at the Bedford North Lawrence grouping. Floyd Central topped Bloomington South 48-35 in another Bedford North Lawrence regional pairing, and Crown Point won LaPorte’s 4A final 54-45 over Penn.
Class 3A and 2A regionals produced both blowouts and thriller finishes. Bellmont handled East Noble 63-32 in the Bellmont regional; Northview beat Brebeuf Jesuit 50-38 at Terre Haute North Vigo; Fairfield squeaked by Kankakee Valley 49-47 at Winamac Community; and Washington defeated Evansville Central 47-43 in overtime at Boonville. In Class 2A, Lapel dispatched Rensselaer Central 63-42 in Regional 19 at Lapel, Bremen routed Andrean 61-32 in LaPorte’s Regional 18, and Whitko routed Eastside 64-28 in Warsaw’s Regional 17.
Marquee one-possession finishes and extended extras defined several regionals. Northridge’s 51-50 win over Valparaiso landed a one-point regional thriller at the Jimtown site. Tindley survived Trinity Lutheran 46-44 after three overtimes in Shelbyville’s Class 1A Regional 30. Tindley’s 3OT victory and Washington’s overtime win are the clearest examples of regionals decided in extra periods on Feb. 14.

Hosts statewide produced notable margins: Norwell exploded for a 90-56 win over Fort Wayne Snider in the Bellmont-hosted grouping; Evansville Christian scored 73 points to close its Jasper regional pairing (final for White River Valley reported as either 32 or 42 in different lists); Borden beat Orleans 69-42 in a Class 1A regional; and Culver Academies topped Highland 44-27, though the aggregated sources disagree on whether that matchup was listed under Class 3A or Class 4A.
Regional winners move on to four-team semistates scheduled the following Saturday, Feb. 21, and the IHSAA Girls Basketball State Championships are set for Saturday, Feb. 28 with two sessions: Classes 1A and 2A in the 10:30 a.m. ET session and the Class 3A final at 6 p.m. ET immediately followed by the Class 4A championship.
A few items in the compiled statewide scoreboard need verification before publishing team pages or box-score-driven features: Greenwood Christian’s opponent total is listed as Tri 45 in one source and Tri 55 in another; Evansville Christian’s opponent White River Valley is listed as allowing 32 in one list and 42 in another; and Culver Academies is cross-listed as Class 3A in some host-groupings and Class 4A in another. Confirm those three score and classification discrepancies with the official IHSAA bracket or host-school box scores for final accuracy.
