Indiana Girls Basketball State Championship Weekend Begins Feb. 21; Schedule, Scores

Long Branch defeated Point Beach 43-32 in a rare single-player offensive outburst. "Senior Leomary Diaz-Merino exploded for 41 points in Long Branch’s victory over Point Beach. Diaz-Merino was responsible for over 95% of the Green Wave’s scoring output. Sophomore Nevaeh Wheeler was responsible for the remaining 2 points scored by the Green Wave in the win."

Central held off Toms River South 39-36 after leading 34-25 at the end of three quarters. Shoresportsinsider wrote that "Central held off a furious 4th quarter rally to defeat Toms River South." Senior Vita Kelyman scored a team-high 13 and junior Emma Christensen added 8 for Central, while sophomore Linsey Gribbin led Toms River South with 15 points.
