Indiana Semistate Results: Every Score and State Qualifier in One Place
Mt. Vernon (27-3) and Crown Point (25-1) headline eight semistate champions who punched tickets to Gainbridge Fieldhouse on March 28.

Eight semistate sites. Four classes. One Saturday. By the time the final buzzer sounded across Indiana on March 21, the field for the IHSAA boys basketball state championships was locked in — and the bracket for Gainbridge Fieldhouse on March 28 told some genuinely compelling stories.
Each semistate site hosted four teams from the same class, playing two semifinal games before the championship game determined who moved on. The format required teams to win two games in one day to advance to Gainbridge Fieldhouse and the state finals. Here is a complete rundown of every score and every state qualifier, class by class.
Class 4A: Mt. Vernon turns back New Albany, Crown Point rolls Northridge
The Class 4A south semistate at New Castle Fieldhouse produced the marquee matchup of the day. Crown Point defeated Northridge 66-40 in the north championship, while Mt. Vernon (Fortville) beat Decatur Central 66-46 in the semifinal before outlasting New Albany 77-69 in the south championship.
Crown Point, entering at 25-1, will face Mt. Vernon (Fortville), entering at 27-3, in the Class 4A state final on March 28 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Mt. Vernon's Purdue commit Luke Ertel was central to the Marauders' run, going up for baskets throughout the championship contest against New Albany's Reese McKee. It is a 4A final that features one of the most polished résumés in the field; Crown Point's lone loss over 26 games speaks for itself.
Class 3A: New Haven survives Columbia City, Cathedral dispatches Silver Creek
In the Class 3A north semistate at Logansport, New Haven edged Columbia City 59-55 in the championship after beating Delta 63-49 in the semifinal. At the south semistate in Seymour, Indianapolis Cathedral navigated a loaded bracket to claim its spot. Cathedral's Keaton Aldridge and Owen Peterson were active contributors as the Fighting Irish handled Silver Creek in the semifinal round at Seymour High School.
New Haven (22-7) advances to the Class 3A state final against Indianapolis Cathedral (24-5) on March 28 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Cathedral's path through the bracket was the talk of the south all day; Silver Creek entered the Seymour semistate at 28-1, making the Fighting Irish's win one of the most significant results of the entire round.
Class 2A: Westview dominates Fort Wayne Luers, Parke Heritage edges Triton Central
The Class 2A north semistate was not particularly close once Westview found its rhythm. The Warriors defeated Fort Wayne Luers 69-48 in the championship after beating Lapel 65-62 in the semifinals. Westview (27-1) last played in the state finals in 2014, falling to Park Tudor; the Warriors won back-to-back titles in 1999 and 2000. This is a program with a championship pedigree, and a 27-1 record entering the state final suggests they have not forgotten how to win in March.
At the Class 2A south semistate at Southport High School, Parke Heritage took care of business. Parke Heritage's Brenden Goins was celebrating late as the Wolves defeated Triton Central 44-38. Parke Heritage (26-4) advances to the Class 2A state final against Westview (27-1) on March 28. Combined, the two Class 2A finalists went 53-5 on the season — a testament to how deep both programs ran this winter.

Class 1A: Triton ends a 13-year wait, Barr-Reeve rolls into Indianapolis
The Class 1A north semistate produced one of the feel-good stories of the day. Triton defeated North Vermillion 51-45 in the championship after taking down Tri-County 78-46 earlier in the day. Triton (25-3) is returning to the state finals for the first time since 2013, when it lost to Borden. That 13-year gap between state final appearances adds real weight to what the Trojans accomplished Saturday.
On the other side of the bracket, Barr-Reeve was dominant throughout the south semistate. Barr-Reeve (27-1) advances to the Class 1A state final against Triton (25-3) on March 28 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Barr-Reeve's single loss all season makes them the statistical favorite, but Triton has now won 25 games and beaten every obstacle placed in front of them.

The bigger picture
The semistate round confirmed what this tournament has been pointing toward all season: parity in Classes 1A through 3A, and two powerhouses colliding in 4A. Crown Point's 25-1 record and Mt. Vernon's 27-3 mark represent the two most complete résumés in the state, and a late-night title game under the lights at Gainbridge is exactly the stage both programs have been building toward since November. Westview's return to the finals after a 12-year absence adds another layer of drama to the afternoon session. Four state titles will be decided in a single building on a single Saturday — and every one of them has a legitimate story attached.
