Lafayette Jeff to Host 2026 IHSAA 1A Boys Basketball Semistate Saturday

Four Class 1A regional champions will descend on the Marion Crawley Athletic Center at Lafayette Jefferson High School this Saturday for the 2026 IHSAA Class 1A North Boys Basketball Semistate, with tipoff set for 10:00 AM and a championship game scheduled for 8:00 PM that evening.

Lafayette Jefferson is hosting the full three-game slate on March 21, presented by Pacers/Fever. The bracket pairs Monroe Central against North Vermillion in Game 1 at 10:00 AM, followed by Tri County against Triton at noon. The winners meet in the championship at 8:00 PM. All three games will be played at the Marion Crawley Athletic Center, located at 1801 S 18th Street in Lafayette.

Fans attending the event will enter through designated doors based on their team. Monroe Central and Triton supporters should use Door 12 at the southeast corner of the building. North Vermillion and Tri County fans are directed to Door 15 at the southwest corner. A spectator entrance map is available through Lafayette Jefferson's athletics site. Tickets are split into two sessions: Session 1 covers the 10:00 AM and noon games, while Session 2 covers the 8:00 PM championship.

For those unable to attend in person, all games stream exclusively on IHSAAtv.org. The noon matchup between Tri County and Triton has received particular promotional attention ahead of Saturday's slate.

Home and visitor designations for each semifinal were determined through the IHSAA's standard random drawing process, in which ping-pong balls representing each of the four schools are loaded into a transparent air mix machine. The first ball drawn is the visiting team in the first semifinal, the second is the home team, the third is the visitor in the second semifinal, and the fourth is the home team. The winner of the second semifinal is designated the home team for the championship.

Saturday's semistate is one of several being held across Indiana on March 21. Other north hosts include Muncie Central at the Muncie Fieldhouse, with southern sites at New Castle, Southport, Seymour's Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium, and Washington's Hatchet House. The winner out of Lafayette on Saturday advances to the Class 1A state tournament.
