Norwell Wins 4A Regional 90-56; Bellmont Claims 3A Title
Norwell rolled past Snider 90-56 at Bellmont High School as Rosswurm scored 36; Bellmont beat East Noble 63-32 to claim its first regional title since 1993.

Norwell overwhelmed Snider 90-56 at Bellmont High School, led by Rosswurm’s 36 points in a game that served as payback for a regular-season loss. “Rosswurm continued her strong performance throughout the game, leading the Knights with 36 points as Norwell advanced to the next round,” 21Alive reported, and local accounts described Norwell’s balanced scoring and pressure defense as the engine of the blowout.
Snider’s Janaya Cooper finished with 31 points in defeat, and the Panthers’ season ended at 18-7, David Tilmans reported for GBB. The Norwell program’s postseason arc carried extra narrative weight: the reigning 3A state champions made the jump from 3A to 4A this season and are pursuing a second straight state title and a third consecutive trip to a state title game, Tilmans noted. Social posts and local outlets framed the regional milestone differently, Wfft’s photo caption called the victory Norwell’s “3rd consecutive regional title,” while Norwell’s own NHS-Knights account posted that the Lady Knights had claimed their “1st ever 4A GBB Regional Title,” language that reflects the class change.
On Bellmont’s home court, The Teepee, the Braves beat East Noble 63-32 to win the Class 3A regional and posed with the 2026 3A Regional Championship trophy after the game. WZBD’s Randy Hisner opened his coverage with, “It wasn’t supposed to be this easy,” noting Bellmont’s depth and a strong student section as the Braves built a second-quarter lead of 10 points. Kate Kitson fed Lanie French for a three that helped Bellmont take an 11-point halftime edge; Marianne Bleke scored through the middle “off the glass,” according to WPTA play-by-play.
WZBD’s box score listed Krueckeberg with 16 points, Ashley Bleke 14, Mary Bleke 14, Barton 6, Kitson 5, French 3, Caffee 3 and Katelyn Borne 2 for Bellmont, which improved to 22-3. East Noble, a 20-5 club that had won 12 of 13 entering the regional and climbed to No. 7 in MaxPreps’ 3A rankings, was led by Averi Amstutz’s 13 points; Ritchie and Addison Demming each scored six. Turnovers played a role in the margin, WZBD recorded 14 turnovers for East Noble and 10 for Bellmont.

Other regional finals produced Whitko’s 64-28 victory over Eastside, with Whitko posing with the 2A regional trophy at Warsaw Community High School, and Fremont’s 64-51 win over Marquette Catholic in the Jimtown regional. Semi-state pairings now feature Norwell, Bellmont, Whitko and Fremont, per multiple outlets, while WZBD reported Bellmont will join Fairfield, Culver Academy and Connersville in the North Semistate, site to be determined.
The IHSAA will reveal official semistate pairings in a live show Sunday at 2:00 P.M. on its streaming platform. Photographs circulated after Saturday’s games showed Norwell with the 4A trophy at Bellmont High School and Bellmont with the 3A trophy at The Teepee, capping a busy regional Saturday across northeast Indiana.
