Ten Northeast Indiana Girls Basketball Teams Claim Sectional Titles Saturday
Ten Northeast Indiana girls teams claimed sectional titles Saturday, locking up regional berths and setting the stage for next-round matchups fans will track closely.

Ten Northeast Indiana programs closed out sectional play with Saturday night wins, punching their tickets to regionals and reshaping the postseason picture across classes 1A through 4A.
Northridge edged Warsaw 63-60 in the Class 4A Goshen sectional to advance, while Ft. Wayne Snider rolled past Fort Wayne Carroll 54-37 in the Carroll sectional. Norwell survived a one-point thriller, topping Homestead 47-46 in the Class 4A South Side final; Vanessa Rosswurm appeared in game action early, pictured putting up a shot over Homestead defenders Suzy Perego and Myah Epps in the first half. Fairfield continued its gritty run with a 30-28 victory over Tippecanoe Valley in the Class 3A Tippecanoe Valley sectional.
In Class 3A East Noble dominated DeKalb 57-37, paced by two All-NE8 first-team juniors. Averi Amstutz is averaging 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.9 steals this season, and Rian David has contributed 10.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 steals; both players helped cement East Noble’s sectional crown. Bellmont put up a statement 50-23 win over Mississinewa in the Mississinewa sectional, powered by sophomore standouts Ashley and Mary Bleke. Ashley poured in 22 points in the semifinal and earned first-team all-conference recognition again, while Mary scored 10 points in both the semifinal and the championship and joined the conference honors this season.
The Class 2A Lakeland sectional saw Eastside defeat Central Noble 45-38. Whitko claimed a lopsided repeat sectional victory, beating Bishop Luers 69-36 in the Woodlan sectional and securing back-to-back sectional hardware. In the 1A brackets, Fremont beat Blackhawk Christian 59-43 and North Miami topped Southwood 50-27 to round out the Northeast Indiana champions.

These results matter beyond trophies: three NE8 conference programs among the winners underscore the conference’s depth, Bellmont’s sophomores provide a developmental storyline for years to come, and Whitko’s repeat signals sustained program strength. For players like Amstutz and David, solid season averages translate into postseason expectations; for veterans and underclassmen alike, regionals offer a stage for exposure to college coaches and larger audiences.
Regional matchups and locations will be announced at a later date, meaning teams now pivot from sectional celebration to regional preparation. Fans should watch for bracket releases, follow seeding updates, and expect intense travel weekends as these ten squads represent their schools in the next phase of Indiana high school girls basketball.
