Terre Haute North’s Todd Woelfle named 2026 Indiana All-Star head coach
Todd Woelfle’s All-Star nod capped Terre Haute North’s climb from contender to standard-bearer, after back-to-back semi-state runs and a 24-4 season.

Todd Woelfle did not just get rewarded for winning. He got rewarded for making Terre Haute North into a program that now expects to play deep into March, and for proving it twice in a row with back-to-back semi-state runs.
Woelfle was named head coach for the 2026 IndyStar boys’ Indiana All-Stars on March 31, giving the Terre Haute North coach his first All-Star assignment and putting a statewide spotlight on a résumé built over 18 seasons in Terre Haute. Mike Broughton, the games director, made the announcement, and Woelfle will be joined by Chad Ballenger of Hamilton Heights and Joe Bradburn of Mt. Vernon (Fortville) on the June bench.
The appointment fits the shape of Woelfle’s record. Terre Haute North went 24-4 in 2025-26, won sectional and regional titles and rode a 22-game winning streak into the postseason. That came on top of two Conference Indiana championships in a row, the first consecutive league titles in school history, and a First Financial Classic record 13th championship. Over 18 seasons, Woelfle has gone 278-177. Those numbers do more than decorate a coach’s profile. They show sustained control of a program that has moved from occasional success to a real contender every winter.
That is why this selection feels bigger than a ceremonial honor. The All-Star head coach is supposed to represent Indiana basketball at its best, and Woelfle earned that standing by turning Terre Haute North into proof that strong coaching still matters more than zip code. The semi-state runs were the measuring stick. They said Terre Haute North could survive the roughest part of the bracket, keep winning when the gym got loud and the margin got thin, and stay there long enough to make people around the state take notice.

The June schedule gives Woelfle a quick test of how that approach translates to the All-Star level. The 2026 boys team will play three games, including an exhibition against the Indiana Junior All-Stars and home-and-home games against Kentucky. The Kentucky series is set for June 5 at Lexington Catholic High School and June 6 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The Indiana All-Star program dates to 1939, when the boys first played the state champion Frankfort Hot Dogs. The Kentucky series followed in 1940, with the girls added in 1976, the Junior All-Stars in 1996 and the Futures Games in 2023. The 2026 boys roster was unveiled April 16 and is headlined by Indiana Mr. Basketball Braylon Ertel. For Woelfle, the appointment is recognition. For Terre Haute North, it is confirmation that the climb has changed the conversation.
