Todd Woelfle Named Head Coach of 2026 IndyStar Boys Indiana All-Stars
Terre Haute North's Todd Woelfle, who went 24-4 this season, will coach Indiana's best seniors against Kentucky's All-Stars in June.

The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association named Todd Woelfle the head coach of the 2026 IndyStar Boys Indiana All-Stars, tapping a coach whose 278-177 record across 18 seasons at Terre Haute North places him among the state's most accomplished active coaches. All-Star games director Mike Broughton made the appointment Tuesday, with IBCA director of special projects Pat McKee distributing the announcement.
Woelfle comes into the role off one of his best seasons: the Patriots finished 24-4 in 2025-26 and captured both sectional and regional championships. That run added to a résumé that already includes two Conference Indiana titles, five sectional championships, two regional crowns and ten Wabash Valley Classic tournament titles. He is a two-time HBCA District 1 Coach of the Year and a two-time Conference Indiana Coach of the Year, with prior stints on Junior All-Star and Hoosier Gym All-Star staffs that gave him firsthand exposure to the format he'll now run.
The connection to Indiana basketball runs deeper than his win total. Woelfle graduated from Terre Haute North in 1994, playing for coach Jim Jones before continuing his career at Oakland City University. His tenure as an IBCA district representative embedded him further in the organizational structure that eventually produced this appointment.
His assistants bring complementary weight to the staff. Chad Ballenger has spent 19 seasons at Hamilton Heights, compiling a 259-182 career record alongside nine conference championships, five sectionals and one regional. Joe Bradburn arrives fresh off a Class 4A state championship with Mt. Vernon in Fortville, giving the staff a direct connection to the state's highest-profile postseason run of 2026.

The coaching challenge ahead is a specific one: build chemistry fast, distribute minutes among a roster of all-state players and beat Kentucky twice. The 2026 All-Stars will play three games in June, opening with an exhibition against the Indiana Junior All-Stars before two home-and-home matchups against Kentucky's squads. Those contests anchor IndyStar All-Star Week, which also runs Junior games and Futures contests for freshmen and sophomores.
For seniors earning a roster spot, the series serves as one final recruiting showcase before graduation. The IBCA said additional roster announcements and scheduling details will follow as All-Star Week approaches.
