Westview Survives Lapel's Late Rally, Advances to Class 2A State Finals
Third-ranked Westview survived Lapel's late rally at Muncie to punch its ticket to the Class 2A state finals.

Third-ranked Westview punched its ticket to the Class 2A state finals Saturday, holding off a furious late charge from Lapel in the semistate round at Muncie to keep its championship run alive.
The Warriors didn't make it easy. Lapel, whose tournament run had been one of the more compelling stories in the 2A bracket, clawed back late and gave Westview every reason to sweat. But the third-ranked Warriors did enough down the stretch to secure the win and move on.
For Lapel, the loss ends what had been an impressive postseason run. The Bulldogs reached the semistate stage and pushed one of the state's top-ranked programs to the wire before their season came to a close in Muncie.

Westview now advances to the Class 2A state finals, where the Warriors will face another program that survived the other semistate bracket. As one of the final four teams standing in Class 2A, Westview carries both the expectation of a top-three ranking and the momentum of a team that has repeatedly found ways to win when it mattered most.
The research notes available at press time did not include individual scoring lines or play-by-play specifics from the Muncie semistate, but the broader arc is clear: Westview is still standing, Lapel is not, and the Warriors are one win from a state title.
