Da Nang to Host Pickleball World Cup 2026 in Historic Asia Debut
Da Nang will host the Pickleball World Cup from August 30 to September 6, 2026, marking the first time the tournament has been staged in Asia.
Vietnam's coastal city of Da Nang will stage the Pickleball World Cup from August 30 to September 6, 2026, bringing the tournament to Asia for the first time in its three-year history and cementing the country's rapid rise as one of the sport's most significant international venues.
The third edition of the World Cup follows inaugural events in Lima in 2024 and Fort Lauderdale in 2025. The Pickleball World Cup announced the host city on its social media channels, writing: "For the first time ever, the Pickleball World Cup is heading to Asia… and we're bringing it to Da Nang. A new chapter begins. A new stage is set. A new energy rises from the heart of Asia."
Da Nang does not arrive at this moment without context. Vietnam already hosts two stops on the 2026 PPA Tour Asia circuit: the MB Hanoi Cup, the season-opening event scheduled April 1 to 5, and the Ho Chi Minh City Open, which follows as the second PPA Tour Asia tournament in the country. The 2026 PPA Tour Asia season spans 10 tournaments in total and is set to conclude with the Hong Kong Slam in October, making Vietnam one of the most heavily featured nations on the continental calendar.
The regional tournament scene around Da Nang also has prior form. The Tuyen Son Sport Complex, located near the city, served as the venue for the APUN 2025 Asian Pickleball University Championships athlete recruitment, and the area hosted recruitment for the 2025 Asia Pickleball Junior Open Japanese national team, indicating existing infrastructure and organisational experience with international pickleball.
The World Cup announcement drew 2,700 views on the organiser's Facebook post, where the event was framed as "more than a destination" and described as "a movement." The teaser video released ahead of the March 20 reveal had accumulated 2,000 views before the host city was confirmed.
Vietnam's 2026 calendar now includes the World Cup alongside two PPA Tour Asia stops across three cities, a schedule that positions the country as an anchor market for the sport's expansion in the region. With the Da Nang edition still five months from its opening day, the tournament's organising team has yet to confirm venue specifications, participating nations, prize money, or broadcast arrangements.
