Aalyka Ebrahim took the court in three separate event formats at The Mall Bangkapi in Bangkok and left with a medal or a near-miss each time. Her gold in Women's Doubles 19+ Open with Agnimitra Bhavatosh Bhattacharya, silver in Mixed Doubles Advanced Plus with Avinash Kumar, and fourth-place finishes in both Women's Singles 19+ Open and Advanced Plus made her the tournament's standout individual. She was the centerpiece of an All India Pickleball Association campaign at the WPC Asia Pickleball Open 2026, held March 11-16 in Bangkok, Thailand, that produced two golds and one silver across a delegation drawn from four Indian states.

The other gold came in Men's Doubles 19+ Open, where Mayur Patil and Vanshik Kapadia, both representing Maharashtra, took the title. Gaurav Rane and Tejas Mahajan entered the same bracket and finished fourth.

Ebrahim's Women's Doubles partnership with Agnimitra Bhavatosh Bhattacharya gave India its second gold of the event. Ebrahim then paired with Avinash Kumar in Mixed Doubles Advanced Plus to claim silver. Her additional starts in Women's Singles 19+ Open and Advanced Plus each ended fourth, a workload that spanned multiple formats across the six-day tournament.

Avinash Kumar also produced results in Men's Singles, finishing third for bronze. Sonu Kumar Vishwakarma of Jharkhand finished one position higher in the same bracket, winning silver and giving India two podium finishes in Men's Singles alone. Ritam Chawla of Haryana competed in multiple doubles combinations during the week, pairing with both Sonu Kumar Vishwakarma and Varun Jain at different stages.

The depth of India's entry showed throughout the draws. AIPA fielded eleven pairings in doubles competition, including Kunal Bare with Aniket Durgawali, Kuldip Mahajan with Juan Pinilla, and Avinash Kumar with Arunava Majumder. Anuja Maheshwari and Vrushali Thakare reached the Women's Doubles 19+ Open semifinal round before finishing fourth, one spot behind the gold medalists.

AIPA President Arvind Prabhoo said: "We are extremely proud of the performances delivered by our players at the WPC Asia Pickleball Open. Their dedication and commitment continue to raise the standard of Indian pickleball on the international stage. Results like these reflect the growing depth of talent in the country and give us great confidence for the future of the sport in India."

The association has been building the sport domestically for over 18 years. Bangkok adds a concrete data point to that track record: podium finishes at WPC Asia carry real weight in the Asian competitive calendar, shaping athlete resumes and selection benchmarks as the 2026 regional season moves forward.
