India's AIPA Players Claim Two Golds, One Silver at Bangkok Pickleball Open
Mayur Patil and Vanshik Kapadia won gold in men's doubles as India's AIPA claimed two golds and a silver at Bangkok's WPC Asia Pickleball Open.

Two gold medals in one day tells you something about where Indian pickleball stands right now. At the WPC Asia Pickleball Open 2026, held March 11 to 16 at The Mall Bangkapi in Bangkok, players representing the All India Pickleball Association delivered the country's strongest result of the tournament cycle: two golds and a silver across the six-day competition.
The headline performances came from two pairs. In the Men's Doubles 19+ Open, Mayur Patil and Vanshik Kapadia claimed gold, while Aalyka Ebrahim and Agnimitra Bhavatosh Bhattacharya swept the Women's Doubles 19+ Open. The silver was also secured by an AIPA player, though the specific recipient was not confirmed in official releases at time of publication.
Kapadia's gold in Bangkok adds to a resume that already includes a silver in the 19+ Open Men's Singles at the World Pickleball Championship's Hong Kong leg in late 2024 and a gold in men's doubles at the 2024 Asia Pickleball Open with Tejas Mahajan. Patil, for his part, had taken bronze in the 19+ Open Mixed Doubles at the same Hong Kong event alongside Neilson Chen. Their pairing in Bangkok produced the most decisive result of the week.
Arvind Prabhoo, President of the All India Pickleball Association, pointed to the results as evidence of a broader trend in Indian pickleball. "We are extremely proud of the performances delivered by our players at the WPC Asia Pickleball Open. Their dedication and commitment continue to raise the standard of Indian pickleball on the international stage. Results like these reflect the growing depth of talent in the country and give us great confidence for the future of the sport in India," he said.
The Bangkok result is the latest in a run of strong international showings for AIPA. At the 2025 World Pickleball Championship in Jeju-do, South Korea, Kuldip Mahajan won two golds in men's doubles and mixed doubles, while Sonu Kumar Vishwakarma took silver in men's singles. The Hong Kong leg of WPC 2024 produced six medals total, including gold, three silvers, and two bronzes. The pattern is consistent: Indian players are not showing up to compete, they are showing up to win.
With the World Pickleball Championships previously announced for Mumbai from November 12 to 17, the sport's infrastructure inside India is catching up to the international ambition its players have been carrying abroad for the past two years.
