Pakistan Pickleball Federation Adopts DUPR, Hosts UCP Taakra National Championship
Pakistan's pickleball federation adopted DUPR and ran the UCP Taakra national championship, a milestone that ties local competition to global ratings and player development.

The Pakistan Pickleball Federation completed official integration with DUPR and staged the UCP Taakra national championship, a move that immediately links domestic competition to a global, data-driven rating ecosystem. The change positions Pakistani players to build internationally recognised records and alters how tournaments will be seeded and tracked going forward.
DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) will serve as the recognised rating platform for pickleball across Pakistan. The federation highlighted the practical benefit for competitors: "Players can register through the official PPF DUPR Club and begin building verified global ratings that reflect their competitive performances." That registration pathway creates a direct pipeline from school and club events to verified international profiles, which promises clearer seeding, ranking transparency, and pathways for elite selection.
February's activity also showcased rapid grassroots growth. University-level competition set new benchmarks, with over 200 student-athletes competing in what the federation described as the largest university-level pickleball championship in Pakistan's history. The UCP National Games record underscores expanding participation at the collegiate tier, even as the relationship between those university games and the UCP Taakra national championship reported by international press remains to be clarified by organisers.
Governance moves have kept pace with competition. The PPF has received official membership in the Global Pickleball Federation and in October 2025 saw Rana Fakhar Saeed, the federation president, take a seat on the Asian Pickleball Association board. Those developments strengthen Pakistan's voice in regional decision-making and offer administrative leverage when negotiating international events, coaching exchanges, and development programs.

Investment in infrastructure accompanied the organizational upgrades. Six new high-performance centers were approved, with state-of-the-art facilities slated for Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. The approval signals a commitment to training pathways beyond casual play, designed to support athlete development from junior pipelines to national teams.
The federation also pointed to recent international success as a spur for growth: Komal Safdar made history at the Pickleball World Cup 2025 in Florida by winning Pakistan’s first-ever gold medal in the Women’s Singles Open. That result, amplified on social channels, provides a competitive beacon for emerging players aiming to turn domestic DUPR points into international invitations.
The PPF framed the sport’s rise in social terms: "We believe this accessible, engaging, and social sport holds immense potential for Pakistan’s vibrant youth and active communities." For players and organisers, the immediate next steps are clear, register through the PPF DUPR Club, log competitive results, and await published tournament seedings built from those verified ratings. Full match results and detailed outcomes from the UCP Taakra event have not been released in federation summaries, so follow-up reports are expected as organisers publish draws and scores. In practical terms, DUPR integration and expanding facilities signal that Pakistani pickleball is moving from a grassroots surge to an organised, internationally connected competitive scene.
