Sunday junior pickleball program builds skills and community in KL
Picklestarz Academy runs a weekly junior grassroots program at KingsCourt TTDI, teaching fundamentals and building confidence for kids while offering parent perks. Spots are limited; book via WhatsApp.

Picklestarz Academy is turning Sunday mornings at KingsCourt TTDI into a focused training ground for young pickleball players, blending fundamentals, play and community in a safe, structured setting. The Junior Grassroots Development Program runs every Sunday from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and is designed to give children hands-on coaching in small groups.
Each court hosts groups of six to eight children, allowing the Picklestarz coaching team to deliver individual attention and tailor drills to skill level. Sessions prioritize the core techniques that form a player's foundation, accurate serves, precise dinks and court positioning, with every drill built to be developmentally appropriate and enjoyable. Coach Chris Lo, founder of Picklestarz Academy, leads the program and emphasizes the link between fun and rapid learning: “Kids learn faster when they enjoy what they’re doing,” says Coach Chris. “Our goal is to make every session fun, engaging, and educational so that children leave the court feeling accomplished and excited for the next week.”
Families get more than coaching. While juniors refuel with healthy snacks after sessions and mingle with peers, parents can relax nearby with a discount at Leo’s Cafe; KingsCourt TTDI has arranged 50% off select food items for parents during the program. That combination of activity for kids and convenience for adults has made Sunday mornings a popular community ritual at the venue.
The program is priced at RM210 per session. Booking is handled directly through the Picklestarz Hotline via WhatsApp at +6012-5354663. Limited spots and the small-group format mean parents should reserve early to secure a consistent weekly slot for their child.

For beginners picking up a paddle for the first time and for youngsters refining their touch in the non-volley zone, the program aims to develop motor skills, confidence and teamwork alongside court skills. KingsCourt TTDI’s environment and the academy’s coaching method create a low-pressure pathway from fun-based grassroots sessions to more focused training later on.
What this means for local families is straightforward: regular, structured coaching with clear developmental goals, social play and practical parent conveniences on a weekend schedule. For parents ready to get their children into the game, book your child’s place through the Picklestarz WhatsApp line and expect steady improvement in fundamentals, confidence and court IQ as Sundays at KingsCourt TTDI keep producing the next wave of pickleball players.
